As the title suggests, it's been a long month. Almost 2 months. Medically speaking that is. Let's just say,I turned 46 and it's all gone to shit.
Well, that may be a bit of an exaggeration. I guess. The long of the short of it... My medical team (all of 2 Dr's, but I like to call them my team, to make it sound all important like) is suggesting that I have some sort of Arthritis. They just don't know what kind. Apparantly there are 100's of types and I am basically testing "weak positive" for some sort of type. If any of you are familiar with a Blood test called: Erythrocyte Seimentation Rate, this is what tests your innards and if you have inflammation. The normal range is between 0-<20. Mine is a 95. So, this is telling my team that there is significant inflammation and when I say significant, what I actually mean is... 10 inch nails on a chalkboard scraping downward, back upward and then back downward while someone gnaws off your earlobe with broken teeth, all the while poking a safety-pin in and out, in and out of your left eyeball. Yeah that's it, that only slightly describes the pain I was in for about 6 weeks.
Then came along a little pill called Mr. Steroid. My team has said that until a slow processing Arthritic pill can kick in, I can take along with it Mr. Steriod. Oh how we dooo love our Mr. Steriod. I know, I know, I can hear you all now, "Steroids are not good for you!" Trust me, if they're okay for Roger Clemens, then they are okay for me. It is, for now, the only thing keeping the pain at bay and if you've ever had your eyeball poked with a safety-pin, then you know why I'm taking the steroid.
So, it's been a long hard road, but for now I'm doing much better and hopefully soon it will all be "figured out" by my Team.
I'll keep you posted!! I promise.
