My mom had the Christmas spirit in her... Every year, her house was decorated to the nines, her tree; perfection, and she was always coming up with the most creative gift wrappings. She would never think about just using holiday paper and a stinking bow, we're talking delicate designs, whimsical themes, and creative masterpieces. Receiving a gift from her was actually like getting two gifts, one on the inside and one on the outside. And, she always handcrafted her Christmas Cards...
Here is one I've held onto for the past 23 years... I remember styling this photo with her, she said she wanted to send a card that had a funny take on the fact that she lived in California and that Christmas in California was like paradise. But with further thought, I'm thinking that what she was really saying to all the recipients was...
"I live in California people, so Merry "SUCK IT" Christmas..."
Geez, I miss her!!
I swear she watches over our family VERY closely! There is so much of her in you so every time I'm with you I feel like I'm with the both of you... and sometimes, odd as it sounds, I feel like she's with me too.
