    always the bridesmaid...

    Remember When: part iv...

I've been a bridesmaid 4 times in my lifetime. But only one stands out in my mind as... Gosh, I don't even know what to say about it... "I love you Di and Oz, but this has got to go down in the history books as probably one of the worst Bridesmaid's dresses. Ever."

    who's your neighbor..?

If this doesn't tug at your heart strings and leave you begging for more, than you are nothing but a cold fish.

It's a great story... join in the journey with Benjamin... I just love this guy...

    Remember When: part iii...

No Diary entry for this snapshot... But I'm pretty sure this was taken on the day I went to Hollywood to audition to be one of Mork and Mindy's neighbors.

    just dancing...

I don't know if anybody is even out there... but have any of you been watching this summer's mega hit show, "So You Think You Can Dance...?" Well, I have and it has just been the most entertaining of shows. I know, I know, "Not another Reality Show, Jill..." Sorry, but this show is just the best. These kids can dance!

I'm thinking that some people are shying away from watching this show (besides the fact that they probably "have a life.") because after watching that other famous dancing show all spring long, they're saying to themselves, "Not another dancing show..." But, I'm here to tell you that this dancing show is wayyyy better than that other dancing show. The best part about it in my opinion is the fact that there are more genre's of dance to watch, more to learn about, and just that many more to enjoy. They got your typical Ballroom and Latin dances just like that other dancing show, but in addition to those dances, they also got yer' Hip Hop, yer' Crumping, a little Lindy Hop, some Jazz, and of course Contemporary, to just name a few. But the main reason I like this dancing show better than that other dancing show is because when they pair up the boys and girls on this show, when you're watching them do their thing, it's just so amazing to watch BOTH of them dance. On that other dancing show, since one of the partners is just a "celebrity" and not a dancer (per' say) they really aren't all that good. Yes, they are good, but just not THAT good. They get better over time and if they have a good partner, the good partner can help them along and bring out the best in them, but their best is still no where near the best these kids have on this dancing show. On this dancing show, all the boys are good and all the girls are good in fact they're not just good they're fantastic. The things they can do, the way they move their little bodies, I have just about balled my head off crying week after week watching them. (not a sad cry, but an "oh my god, they are so amazing," cry.) Pure entertainment.

    Final_four
Final Four... Danny, Lacey, Neil and Sabre...

After tonight's finale' I just have NO IDEA who is going to win this thing... It's down to the final 4 and I can honestly say that all 4 of them are contenders. Now, I do think they are contenders for different reasons, but to sum it up, these 4 can dance. Amazingly. (Have I said Amazing enough yet? I think it's my new word for the summer seeing as they seem to say it on this dancing show quite a lot!)

    Neil_4
This guy Neil, he can do all kinds of tricks and not just for kids either, this cutie pie can leap and twist all at the same time, and then bounce right back on his feet and pop you a grin with the whitest, brightest teeth you've ever seen. "Neil is just a doll and could totally win this thing..."

    Dannylacy2_3

Danny and Lacey... These two are HOT. HOT. HOT. Especially when they did this particular dance; the Samba. Personally I have it saved on my TiVO so I can watch it over and over and over. This guy Danny, is a gazelle... He can leap across the stage with such force and such grace all at the same time, it brings tears to my eyes. He definitely has the body of a dancer and should never ever do anything else for the rest of his life. "Danny is a force to be reckoned with and could totally win this thing..." This girl Lacey, she is a spitfire... She is a sexpot and really knows how to work the crowd. Her brother is the winner from last year, so at first I didn't think I was going to like her, but she won me over when she did this Samba with Danny. My favorite dance of the season for sure. "Lacey can dance, and could totally win this thing..."

    Sabre

This is Sabre. She is probably my personal favorite. Just look at her... She is just so cute you want to play with her like a dolly. She has this cute little body and a cute little afro to go with it. The most intriguing thing about Sabre is that she has only been dancing for 4 years. 4 years and now she is in the top 4. Unbelievable. She has the best technique (or so the judges say...) and just the best outlook of all the contestants. She just smiles and takes it all in. She knows she probably won't win, but is just there for the experience. Good for her. "Sabre is my absolute favorite and could totally win this thing." (I hope!)

    i love l.a.

    Remember When: part ii...

(Background: 1982, I'd just turned 18 and had moved back to California from Yukon, Oklahoma where I'd just spent the previous year living with my dad and spending my senior year at a new high school. Once back in California my really good friend Yevette and I were way into photography and taking pictures of ourselves in all kinds of situations. We loved the whole Los Angeles thing and everything Celebrity. We essentially would drive the 60 miles north as much as we could to "cruise the streets" of Hollywood taking pictures of Mansions and Celebrities. Yes, I'm a stalker.)

    Thursday September 16, 1982...

Went to L.A. today with Yevette. We got to drive up in her brand new car. She got a Mazda GLC and it has a hatchback. It's so cool. We left in the afternoon and got up there pretty easily. We drove by Rodeo Drive and saw all the fancy stores. Next time we're gonna go shopping. Then we decided to drive down Sunset Boulevard to see all the weird people. YOU will NEVER believe who we saw. As we were driving down, all of a sudden I look over and in the car next to us is *DICK VAN DYKE. (* the all caps are for real) He was just driving along like normal. Yevette started screaming and told me to, "take his picture, take his picture." I got too nervous and didn't want him to catch me doing it. She just kept yelling and so I looked over and when I did HE WAS LOOKING AT ME. I just waved and Yevette started yelling, "roll down the window, roll down the window." So I did and then I just motioned and pointed to my camera, "can I take your picture?" He just looked at us and nodded yes. *SO I DID!!!!!! (* 6 exclamation points are for real) He even rolled down his window. We were screaming our heads off. After that he sped off and went ahead of us and Yevette started yelling, "we're going after him, we need a better picture." I agreed and said, go, go catch up. We followed him down Sunset Boulevard until we saw him make a right hand turn into a parking lot. We turned in too and saw that he got out of the car and went into the store. I was scared and nervous, but Yevette said, we're going in, come on. So we went in, and realized he must have been going to get lunch. The place was sort a like a drug store / diner. When we went in we sort a milled around the drug store trying to decide how we could go up to him. I was so nervous, but Yevette finally said, "I'm going are you coming with me or not?" I went and we just went right up to him (over in the Diner) and he was just standing there waiting for a seat and Yevette asked him, "can we take your picture?" He was so nice and said "YES." The lady at the diner said she would take it of all 3 of us and so we stood there and she got the shot. He was so nice and we thanked him a lot for letting us take the picture. We got out of there and laughed the rest of the day about how crazy we are. What a great day and I can't wait to get the pictures developed.
