Not sure if too many of you will "get" the title... but what I'm really trying to say is, WE'RE MOVING! Now don't go and squinch up your nose when I tell you it's to El Paso. Come on now, I told you not to do that... Trust me, it is going to be great.
The decision came quickly and we are just going for it. I could list out all the "Pros" but, that would take too long. There are really only just a few cons, so it's a done deal. We hightailed it out there last week, shacked up at my dad's pad and house hunted and job hunted and even though it was very stressful, we managed to secure it all down. We've got big plans to "Get on our Feet" while there. We're not committing it to be our final destination, but a good 3-5 years is a good start. TL will settle nicely into his job and I will (finally) acquire my Teachers Certification and hopefully we can build up some equity and then in a few years we can re-evaluate.
Best of all we will be around family... Even TL says he'd much rather be around my family than his own, so I am really looking forward to having some folk around. For now we've found a nice little rental house to start with and I am really looking forward to "fixing it up." I haven't been watching HGTV for 9 years for nothing, dammit. I got plans people.
I can't wait to INTRODUCE you all to that part of the country, my version. Not the one you've heard about all these years, not the one you've seen when you were just "driving through." It is so much more than that trust me. It truly has it's charms.
For now here is our new view out our bedroom window...
Besides having a terrible head cold these past few days, there is just a lot of "behind the scenes" action going on around here. Not too much I can reveal at this time, but let's just say that I feel like the ground is moving beneath me and I can't slow it down.
I will be out of commission for about the next week... but upon my return I will fill you all in and hopefully with nothing but "GOOD NEWS!!"
My neice had another birthday... Turning 5 is an awesome feat! I am sad I couldn't be with her on her big day, but to make up for my absence I hope my handmade gift was at least a small consolation. I happend to be at Tar'get one day and was browsing through the toddler clothing and was thinking how cute little girl clothes continue to be... They just make the cutest little things, don't they? But as I was browsing, I thought to myself, "Self? I can so easily make this." So off to JoAnn's I went and found some darling fabric and this is what I created...
Sundress with matching Purse... (They look big, but they really are 5 year old size)
