a wee robot...
I've recently become a big fan of Wee Wonderfuls... If you haven't visited this site, I suggest you do. Hillary is a very creative lady and has the most delightful of items for sale in her Wee Auction. And be sure to check out the Project Albums, there are just the cutest little items, all handmade.
I wrote to Hillary not too long ago, asking for her permission to "bogart" her idea of the stuffed robot... She graciously said for me to "go for it," and I was filled with glee (I guess you could even say that I had some "wee glee." hee...). On Wednesday my little nephew Ryan, turned 6 years old and I really wanted to give him a unique and cool gift, hence the bogarted robot idea. Now mind you, I in no way think that my craftmanship is anywhere near the pristine efforts of Hillary's, but I did give it my best shot and here are the results...

When I saw that the new movie ROBOTS~Repair for an Adventure was coming out this weekend, I again became filled with glee. This way, by now owning his very own robot he could be the coolest kid on the block with his "bad-robot-owning-self." So I printed out a few Movie Posters to send in the box along with enough moola so he could go to the movie and even get some popcorn. (me so clever)
Anyway... I didn't stop there. Before I packed up said robot to send off to said nephew, I of course wanted to take some pictures of it and this is when the fun began! I said to myself, "Self, wouldn't it be cute to take a picture of the robot near downtown with big ass buildings set as the backdrop?" Then I answered myself, "Yes self, it would." So that's just what I did. I grabbed the robot, got in my car and headed downtown to snap away. Here are the results of this little trip...

But folks the fun didn't stop there... For some reason I got a little carried away and began thinking how fun it would be to put the robot in different scenarios about town to show Ryan how his new robot knows how to live life to the fullest! SO, off I went and if you click HERE, and ENTER (the) GALLERY, you can play along and see how Ryan's Robot spent his life here in Texas before moving to California to live with his new pal.
Oh, and here is a little short video of the robot jamm'n to a little Jimmy Buffet. Download jimmy_buffett.m3u Because isn't that what all robots do?
And, I really want to thank Hillary for the inspiration...
**I heard through the grapevine that the robot traveled very well and was excitedly received, and that the Photo Album/Story was a huge hit! Weeee...
